Alchi
Alchi has the best examples of Indo-Tibetan art in the world. Within the complex are statues made of clay, lavish woodcarvings and Kashmiri style murals.

Hemis
Hemis is the largest and richest monastery of Ladakh. One of the temples, the Tshogs-khang, has a silver chorten encrusted with huge flawless turquoises.

Thiksey
Thiksey gompa conducts a prayer ceremony, complete with monks blowing gigantic Tibetan horns (Tibet).
