The Rumtek Monastery

The Rumtek Monastery holds the remains of the late Karmappa. It has rare manuscripts, statues and thangkas. The Do Drul Chorten has 108 prayer wheels and two large statues of Padma Sambhava.

The Pemayang Monastery

The Pemayang monastery is the second oldest in Sikkim. The walls and ceiling of the prayer hall have numerous thangkas and paintings, and an exceptional collection of religious artwork.
